It’s not Goodbye, it’s see you later!
Dear Loyal Readers,
Regrettably, we must inform you that as of now, through a series of unfortunate life changing events, Lauren and my commitment to the Sunshine Dolls has dwindled. We are unable to fulfill our commitment to you and to the music. So instead of just letting this die without a sound, we wanted to let you know and say our goodbyes. Of course, we will continue to support Cisco, Chris Young, Shwayze, Mark Goodfeather and everyone in or around the Bananabeat family. Also, we will continue to support and privately promote all of the talented people we have met through the Sunshine Dolls. Now, it’s time to say our goodbyes…
Lauren:
“Unfortunately after a 3,000 mile relocation, two jobs working 7 days a week, as well as, working toward a communications degree, my life in and of itself is what you might call…complicated. With little to no time to even finish a sentence, I realized it was unfair to continue on with the Dolls half-heartedly. When I know I am unable to commit. So it is with great sadness and disappointment that I must say Goodbye as an official promoter of the Bananabeat Family. Now, to begin to focus on much more personal matters, creating the best form of myself. With much love, respect and appreciation, I’m signing off as Co-Creator of The CA Sunshine Dolls and officially signing on as a lame, responsible adult. Don’t forget me. I’ll still be beating around.
-L.C. Moss”
Sami
“From the formation of the idea of the CA Sunshine Dolls, to now, our last ever post, this has been an indescribable ride. With a lot of ups and downs but, fortunately, mostly ups. I have met so many amazing people and done so much cool stuff since the creation of the Dolls. I’m going to miss every part of it but, life is life. I barely have time to sleep or eat anymore let alone blog and interview. I will of course still be on the scene as much has humanly possible and never ever ever stop supporting and promoting Bananabeat. I’m a Beater for life!!! I have made some friends throughout this process and I will keep them forever! Lauren and I of course are not going anywhere but up so don’t think you wont hear from us!! With sooooo much love that my heart is breaking….I have to say adios mi amigos. I love you all and I hope to still hear from you!! I would also like to thank everyone who has supported US! Reading our blog, favoriting it, posting it on facebook, retweeting us, following us and just being all around total badasses!! Love you alllll sooooooo much!!!!
Peace, love and Bananas,
Sami Sunshine”
A special message to Cisco Adler,
You are the most amazing person we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Thank you so much for every opportunity that you have thrown our way and for letting us be part of this amazing family. We started this out with the idea of a Cisco fan club but you encouraged the growth into a promotion team. It is true that sometimes you are a bigger fan of your fans than anything else! We love you from the bottom of our hearts and we will NEVER stop the Beat.
Love always and Forever,
The CA Sunshine Dolls
VIBE at the Banana Jam
From VIBE’s first official performance to the buzz of Cisco’s birthday, the electricity in the air at the Malibu Inn on Sunday night was so sick it was contagious. The night started out with Garrett the Intern aka DJ Nash bumping some bangers from the right of the stage. The drinks were already flowing and the reefer had been sparked.
Chris Young the Rapper and Rossy took the stage together for the first time as Vibe. I have to say I was a little worried that their music would be too sleepy for a high energy show like this one. Fortunately, I was sooooo wrong! Of course I know from experience that Chris has a stage presence that is undeniably astonishing for a rapper of his status. I had never seen Rossy live before so I was looking forward to seeing what he brought to the stage, hoping that Chris did not out shine him. The chemistry between Chris and Rossy was simply amazing. You would think they had been working together since birth. Rossy’s voice…straight up sex. It’s always so refreshing to hear an artist’s voice unedited and untouched that is just as good as or better than their recordings. He has renewed my faith that there is still real talent in the world. Chris as usual did not disappoint. His lyrics to these new songs are just how I like ‘em deep and meaningful. Every line that both Chris and Rossy have written for the upcoming album seems to be oozing right from the heart of the duo.
“Picture Has Changed”, the first single off of their new album is a bitter-sweet song about the inevitable changing of a relationship and of course the end of said relationship. I love this song. The harmony towards the end sounds great and the lyrics, again, are just…honest. “I am gonna let it, gonna let it, gonna let it be, cause I don’t wanna make this hard.”
Because Chris is just my baby, (even though he might not know it) I was already a fan of Vibe; however, after seeing them live I am completely head over heels for VIBE. I cannot wait for their album or EP or LP or MP3 or whatever to drop. You know I’ll have it on repeat! You can get a little fix and sample on their Youtube page…just btw. http://youtube.com/V1BEProductions and make sure to like them on http://Facebook.com/123vibe
Operation: Late Night
As you know, Cisco and Shwayze have appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon before when Let it Beat was fresh on the racks so now that Island in the Sun is close to dropping they want to preform again! I would love to see this happen and I’m sure you would to. So, I took the liberty to find some email addresses for people at NBC who would be able to point us in the right direction to finding the booking agent for the show.
Here’s my plan: It’s pretty simple just shoot a professional sounding email to both of the people asking if they could direct you to the person in charge of booking talent for the Late Night with Jimmy Fallon show. Make sure to say please and thank you we don’t want to sound rude, of course. Also, you can add some info on why you would like to see them preform again. Be sure to mention they have preformed before!!
Here are the email addresses:
Rebecca Marks, NBC Entertainment RebeccaMarks@nbcuni.com
Curt King, Universal Media Studios Curt.King@nbcuni.com
***these people are NOT in charge of booking the talent, so the communication line cannot die here. Be persistent, but not rude.
OKAY!!!! lets make this happen. Ready. Set. GOOOOOO!!!!

Island In The Sun
First off I would like to apologize for the unannounced hiatus. After taking some much needed time off to finish up school and to decide what in the world we are doing with our lives other than sitting on a beach, The Dolls are back. As it stands right now, we are working on some major changes for the CA Sunshine Dolls. We are working on uniting a bi-coastal banana beat nation. Lauren has set up shop on the east coast in New Jersey. I am still here on the sunny Cali coast so you might start to notice some good changes in perspective. We hope that this summer will mark the turning point in the Sunshine Dolls to becoming a one stop spot to find the best new music.
We are back just in time for some new summer jams by The Cisco Kid and Shwizzle. Just today they released the cover art, by Ray Pappens, for the album entitled “Island in the Sun”. The album will include all new music that the duo have been working on since the beginning of the year. The single “You could be my girl” will be released on the 19th on iTunes also in a 2 for 1 deal the single will be released with a bonus track. The album itself is set to be released in August. ” You could be my girl” can be heard right now on http://shwayzeandcisco.com just to satisfy that craving for some summertime music.
Along with working on the release of the much anticipated album, Cisco and Shwayze will be out on the road this summer on the Seedless Summer Tour with Slightly Stoopid and Rebelution. It is a multi-city tour so check out http://seedlesssummertour.com for all the dates and find a city near you.
Our friends Chris Young and Rossy are also hitting the studio this summer working on VIBE. Looking forward to some more info on that. Gotta check the sources.
So here we are again…another summer but another year wiser. Time to explode on the scene. I speak for both Lauren and myself when I say thanks for all the support and keep it coming! We could always use more traffic on the blog and word of mouth is the best way. Link us up on your stausi and twitter updates.
Thanks Guys!!
Happy Summer from this fiery hell! I mean Woodland Hills.

4/20 Forever…Banana Jam Recap
On Wednesday, April 20th, I ate a brownie. Not just any ol’ brownie, a very, very special brownie. Now, I have eaten edibles before but for some reason I’ve never tried a brownie. Nonetheless, I ate it and I had low expectations. It had been a little over a half hour when my brother and I were driving down Sunset Boulevard, our destination being the legendary Roxy Theater for the 4/20 Banana Jam. Right as we were going around the bend nearing the Beverly Hills Hotel, suddenly, I was moving at warp speed…the brownie kicked in and so had my night.
As we neared 9009 Sunset, I got that familiar feeling in the pit of my tummy…NO! not THAT feeling, the feeling you get before you embark on a crazy awesome adventure. Probably the way Columbus felt when he was leaving Spain or Portugal or where ever he was from. Pulling up to the Roxy on Sunset Boulevard never loses its excitement….well at least for me. My brother, who is a man of very few words, did not show much excitement. Although he has been to many raves, festivals, and night clubs, he has never been to a concert. So as you can see, I expected him to be a tad more excited. He did not understand why we needed to be in line when there were only 5 people in front of us. (total noob.) Cisco tweeted that the first one hundred people in line would get a special gift!
Fast forward to like 7:45, two big ass bouncers come out and say that we either show ID or pay $3…**TANGENT** Wouldn’t it make more sense for the people who are over 21 to pay a cover not the people under? **END TANGENT**…So we pay our $3, even though one of the guys assumed we were over 21. We walk in and I take my position front and center(literally) with my big brother next to me. FREAKIN PUUUMPED!! Everyone crowds in and the music mixed with the voices is slightly deafening. After a minute or fifteen the lights dim and the curtain rises. The Dingo comes out, pumped and ready to get the show started. I look over at my brother with the light from the stage on his usually expressionless face…and what do I find? A smile. A big giant smile! He’s excited. The Dingo introduces the lovely and very talented, Nikko Gray.
Then Chris Young comes out like a firecracker! He played some songs from 619 and some stuff from Value Pack 2, including Fancy Things and Many Styles. He killed it like he always does. He also brought Nikko Gray back out and they did Human Nature (also off of the new mixtape.) You can find the mixtape at none-other than http://chrisyoungtherapper.bandcamp.com (party animals, my favorite poem, and paris remix are my favs.)
At this point I lost my brother because 2 drunk girls from the O.C. ask if they can get in front of him and of course being the gentleman that he is, he lets them. I am a peaceful person and I try to practice what I preach which is kindness; however, it was very difficult to show kindness to these girls. If you were at the show or if you were watching the live broadcast, you will see these girls eventually get removed from the show for jumping on the stage and running around. Karma.
ModSun was up next. That guy is INSANE! He is like…whoa. There are no words. Definitely check his music out if you have not already. The music though is nothing compared to the show he puts on. He is full of energy and/or meth-amphetamines. Shits Legit man.
FINALLY! The Pigeons were up. They open up with “Ready 2 Rock” and we all were. The crowd was so full of energy and many of them were hearing the tunes for the first time. Joints were beginning to be passed around at this point and everyone became best friends. They totally killed it. Literally Mark, Cisco, and Chebon are up for 1st degree murder or at least manslaughter. I find that I need to do my job better when I see that I’m like the only person at the shows that knows every word to the songs. So now it’s time to focus on turning up the Pigeons to 11. I hope this show made a lot more new fans. If you’re reading this you need to tell EVERYONE you know about Cisco Adler& the Pigeons and tell them where to the buy the music!!!
Then Shwayze was up and the crowd went freakin insane!! From talking to a lot of the people there they were fans of Shwayze and they were there for them. They know how to put on a show, fo sho! They preformed songs off of the W’s which was cool. Its always nice to hear new music from your old favs. There were cameras EVERYWHERE that night!! So keep a look out for footage of everyone that night at the Roxy.
After the show I had to give Mark his little birthday present that I picked up for him earlier that day and I wanted my brother to meet Cisco& co. Kidd Russell was backstage as well, so I finally got to meet him face to face. Totally chill, rad dude, btw. I got invited to be in the music video for “Are We Having Fun Yet?” the new song produced by Cisco. It was a lot of fun!! I cannot wait to see the final product. Keep a look out!!! The song is dope too!!(its produced by Cisco…duh.)
4/20 Forever.
